November Teen Movie

The Second Circle Movie Night will be exploring race relations in the south during the early 1960s and how it relates today by viewing and discussing The Help.   The movie will be shown Sunday, November 16, at 4:30 p.m. Discussion and pizza will immediately follow and will be led by our own Bob Fischbach, movie reviewer for the Omaha World-Herald.     Snacks and drinks are provided and freewill donations are accepted for pizza.   Interested parents are welcome to attend.

Plot summary: An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African-American maids’ point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis. Fans of the TV show How to Get Away With Murder can see its star, Viola Davis, in her Oscar-nominated role for Best Actress playing a maid in the The Help.
