OTOC/AMOS Opportunity

How to Become a Faithful Leader for Public Life

Iowa’s congregation-based community organization, called AMOS (A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy), is hosting leadership training. AMOS is the sister organization to Omaha’s OTOC (Omaha Together One Community). It’s at Corinthian Baptist Church, Des Moines, Sunday afternoon, August 2 through Tuesday afternoon, August 4. $250 for double occupancy hotel room; $150 without hotel room; includes tuition, materials and all. We have space for several people from Second Unitarian to attend, and we can carpool.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from national experts talk about:

  • Dealing with tension between the “World As It Is” and the “World As It Should Be.”
  • Acting with Power/Acting with Love
  • Building relationships across lines that divide us
  • Reorganizing/Rebuilding our congregations

This training applies to building relationships within our congregation, the larger community, your work environment, and personal life.
