May Day

In the (way) past, many of us participated in watching or making a May Pole in our school. Very few communities or schools in the US introduce children anymore to this centuries-old rite. We will right this wrong and celebrate the beginning of May by learning about the tradition and by decorating our parking-lot light pole with a traditional dance in our multigenerational celebration. All are encouraged to wear a palette of white and/or green for the festivities! Add flowers — a boutonniere or corsage or just a fun floral pattern in your shirt, dress or tie will do! Think Spring!
